Image Accuracy

The resulting quality of images presented on this site can vary between patterns. This depends on many factors, including your own computer and display. Furthermore, the images of our fabrics that are shown to be upholstered on a lounge chair are entirely computer-generated. While every effort has been made to ensure that the scale and direction are as accurate as possible, these images are only meant to give an impression of what the finished piece might look like. Because of these circumstances, please procure a fabric sample and speak to your furniture representative before writing your spec or purchase order.


Architex® respects visitor and customer privacy. Any information acquired is used internally and not sold under any condition (such as: telephone, address, and e-mail).

Use, duplication, or disclosure by the United States Government is subject to restrictions as set forth in Rights in Technical Data and Computer Software  {DFARS § 252.227-7013).


Established Architex® accounts are invoiced at Net 30 days, based on their credit standing and limit. First time customers will be required to make full payment before order will ship. All freight charges are FOB Northbrook, Illinois, USA and each order is assessed an $ 13.00 handling fee. To facilitate orders please email them to [email protected] or fax to 1-847-205-1510, you may also contact Customer service at 1-800-621-0827. Architex® accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express for USA and, Visa and Mastercard for Canada. Check should be made payable to "Architex International". Architex guarantees our products will perform within industry standards ( i.e. single shift operation, with proper maintenance and for the purpose intended). All materials are produced to meet ACT quality and performance standards. All upholstery products are considered under warranty for a period of 5 years and all other products for 1 year from the date of purchase. Architex warranty will be limited to the refund of the purchase price or replacement of the fabric, if due to manufacturing defect. Labor costs will not be included for any replacement fabric. Any finishes or treatment(s) applied independently of Architex will invalidate your warranty.


Sale and Minimum Order Quantity Items


Any item listed with sale pricing is limited to current in-stock yardage. Any additional quantity beyond stock would require minimum bolt order quantities at standard pricing. All Minimum Order Quantity items without stock must be purchased in bolt quantities. All sale items are final sale and may not be cancelled or returned.


Bolt Price applies to orders of 100 or more yards. The minimum order for a single invoice is 1 yard. Some exceptions do apply, including but not limited to some 72" cubicle fabrics, which require a 2.2 yard minimum (sold in panels). PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. Please contact Customer Service with specific questions.


Customers should examine all products upon receipt to verify that they are as ordered. Certain products are sold only on a non-returnable basis and require a signed acceptance of terms prior to order processing. In some cases, a non-refundable deposit may be required. No returns are accepted without a Return Authorization from Architex®. No returns can be authorized after 30 days from shipment. Acceptable returns will have a 35% restocking charge, plus freight; unless fault is ours. The following are NOT returnable: materials that have been cut, materials which are not part of regular inventory, throw blankets, orders that are under 10 yards, and any fabric that received special finishing.

Change Orders and Cancellations

Certain products are sold on a non-cancellable basis and some may require a signed acceptance of terms prior to order processing. In some cases, a non-refundable deposit may be required. Non-cancellable and non-returnable items include but may not be limited to custom orders, throw blankets, special runs and sale items cannot be returned or cancelled. Orders that are in production or already cut, but not yet shipped are subject to a 35% restocking charge. Furthermore, any backorders not cancelled WITHIN 5 BUSINESS DAYS of the received Purchase Order acknowledgement are also subject to a 35% cancellation charge.


All merchandise shipped is F.O.B. Northbrook, Illinois or processing points. Architex® endeavors to ship all packages via Fed Ex, but reserves the right to select any carrier they determine most expeditious. International shipments are Air Service Only. A MINIMUM SHIPPING CHARGE OF $25.00 APPLIES TO ALL SHIPMENTS and an $13.00 HANDLING CHARGE APPLIES TO ALL ORDERS. In addition to shipping charges, a $25.00 handling charge will be assessed to re-route or reship goods. Please contact customer service for a shipping estimate.

Drop Ship

All orders drop shipped directly from one of our facilities outside of the Architex Northbrook, IL location, are subject to a maximum of 5% overage.

Special Services

Architex® offers a selection of protective finishes, backings and flame treatments. Upholstery fabrics may also be treated to meet various fire codes. For details, please see the Performance Technology page on our website. For all performance finish orders, possible shrinkage may occur, so please add 3-5% to your fabric yardage order. We reserve the right to substitute any finish with a comparable or superior finish technology. Any finishes or treatment(s) applied independently of Architex will invalidate your warranty. Fabrics that have received a special finish are not returnable.

Custom Fabrics

All custom orders require a deposit, are subject to a 5-7% overage, and are non-cancelable.

Wallcovering, Draperies, & Cubicles

These items are non-returnable but can be exchanged if there is a manufacturing defect.


Polyurethanes are not recommended for decorative application (i.e. piping or welting) and our warranty is not guaranteed for polyurethanes used in this manner.

Dye Lots

Although commercially acceptable matches are provided, variations in dye lot may occur. If a specific match is required, please submit a cutting with your order or request a cutting from our current production. Architex® reserves the right to make technical corrections to any product they deem necessary without prior notification.

Dye Transfer Disclaimer

Architex® will not assume responsibility for dye transfer caused by external contaminants. Certain clothing and accessory dyes (such as those used on denim jeans (indigo) or red dyes) can migrate to lighter colors. This phenomenon is increased by humidity/temperature and is irreversible.

Fabric Identification

Architex® makes every effort to ensure all items are properly tagged and marked. However, it is the purchaser's responsibility to confirm that goods received at the time of delivery indeed match purchase orders and specifications.


Architex® assumes no responsibility for improper fabric identification, application or installation. The customer should forward a sample to their respective manufacturer or installer for identification. Architex® will not cover any labor costs associated with improper fabric identification, application or installation.

Fabric Memos/Samples

All memo samples remain the property of Architex®. We reserve the right to recall any samples, as well as update and service our accounts without prior written permission.

Abrasion Disclaimer


Abrasion test results exceeding ACT Performance Guidelines are not an indicator of product lifespan. Multiple factors affect fabric durability and appearance retention; including end-user application and proper maintenance.


Current ACT abrasion minimums:


Woven + Knit Fabrics (low traffic) | 15,000 Wyzenbeek double rubs / 20,000 Martindale cycles

Woven + Knit Fabrics (high traffic) | 30,000 Wyzenbeek double rubs / 40,000 Martindale cycles

Non-Woven Fabrics | 50,000 Wyzenbeek double rubs

Leather Orders

Due to the natural quality of leather and differences in hide size, a slight variation may occur between ordered and shipped quantities. Leather orders may have up to a 10% overage.

Wall Backing

All upholstery fabric ordered for wall application will receive a double acrylic backing. Certain patterns may require a release waiver to be signed before the backing is applied. Fabric which has received this special backing CANNOT be returned.
